Dog six months and older are required by law to be licensed.
Dog licenses can be obtained at the Machias Town Office during regular business hours.
Please bring proof of rabies vaccination and spay or neutering. The cost is $6.00 for a spay/neuter pet and $11.00 otherwise.
All dog licenses expire on December 31st of each year.
You may renew your dog licenses anytime between October 15th and January 31st. You must renew your dog license no later than January 31st of each year or a late fee of $25.00 will be charged.
The Town Clerk is not authorized to waive the late fee, as it is a state imposed fee.
